North Oxfordshire Pub of the Year for 2nd Year Running

Tom and Annette Page, licensees of The Rose & Crown in Charlbury are over the moon. Their pub has been voted as ‘Pub of the Year’ for the second year running by members of the North Oxfordshire Branch of CAMRA. It was a hard fought success for Tom and Annette,  who regularly bring in little heard of but top class beer to this convivial and easy-going town pub. The certificate will be presented on Saturday 12th July to coincide with the Charlbury Beer Festival.

The success of the pub is the fact that it serves often as many as six real ales. This includes a regular bitter, most recently this has been Young’s Bitter, plus an ever changing rotation of guest ales. This puts the pub in a unique situation in the area. Tom and Annette also run their pub almost exclusively on wet sales, which is unusual in a small rural town. The only food you will find are the usual crsips and nuts, plus half a dozen small filled rolls bought in from The Good Food Shop across the road.
