Banbury Beer Festival
It is wonderful to announce that the Banbury Beer Festival was not only a great success in terms of beer this year, but, wonder of wonders, it made a profit of around £1,000!!
Everyone was concerned about the new venue at the Territorial Army Drill Hall up the hill, but all our fears were unfounded. The punters turned up anyway, and the whole thing was enjoyed by all. Captain Bob Sheldon opened proceedings and welcomed us to the hall and upstairs lounge. Bagsy Durham had done his stuff and got us 40 real ales and 2 ciders. The crew of members had rolled up and, hey presto, the barrels were rolled in on the level ground and were up on the stands in no time.
